Today's mergers in the wireless industry create competitive advantages for the larger "nationwide" carriers. By creating a larger network, carriers can utilize internal networks to carry long distance calls and provide services beyond the home market. In the process, carriers control roaming charges and offer attractive regional and nationwide pricing plans. The Toll Manager Service (TMS) provides the advantages that the larger carriers enjoy without the additional costs or network management issues. The Toll Manager Service is based on the ability to determine the dialed digits of a wireless call and reroute that call using messages passed over the SS7 network. This function creates the ability to deliver numerous new, revenue generating services to a wireless carrier's roamers. The "Toll Manager" service that allows the home carrier to benefit when your customers roam and place long distance (toll) calls. The toll rate can be quite high in some roaming partner's markets - especially for international calls. The toll charge is passed through to the subscriber (if their rate plan allows) or must be adsorbed by the home carrier. The home carrier does not receive toll revenue from its subscribers when they roam, cannot promote its brand name, and has no ability to offer advanced services to its roamers. Xium's Roamer Management Service solves all these issues. The first release of the TMS product is based on standard ANSI-41 Revision C technology that is widely deployed in many countries today. The innovative use of the ANSI-41 standard combined with Xium's unique capabilities to route wireless long distance calls is covered under Xium's patent pending process. With the advancements in Voice over IP (VoIP) technology, Xium can provide roaming subscribers a high quality, low cost solution that integrates the advancements in the wireless and wire line networks. Xium recognizes that some carriers already have the voice infrastructure portion of the service, so Xium can customize a solution depending on a carrier's needs. In summary, Xium Wireless currently offers a fully integrated wireless solution that provides revenue to a carrier even when its subscribers are roaming. Using TMS, other services such as travel reservations, customer care and roadside assistance can be offered to increase revenues.

The Roamer Management Service (RMS) is a collection of services that provides the advantages that the larger carriers enjoy without the additional costs or network management issues. The Roamer Management Service is based on the ability to determine the dialed digits of a wireless call and reroute that call using messages passed over the SS7 network. This function creates the ability to deliver numerous new, revenue generating services to roamers. Some features of RMS are home customer care, travel assistance for roamers, one-number dialing and immediate call forwarding. vRoam TM Prepaid Roaming Service Consolidation has been a major factor in the wireless industry over the past two years. Regional carriers have merged to gain efficiencies which allow national calling plans and a wide variety of services to be deployed over a larger coverage area. Xium's products are designed to allow carriers of any size to be competitive, regardless of industry changes. With this philosophy in mind, Xium Wireless, ("Xium") developed the unique vRoam TM Prepaid Roaming Service. Together with a carrier's existing prepaid or credit limiting capabilities, vRoam provides a carrier with the ability to expand its coverage to anywhere it offers traditional "post-paid" service. Xium can also provide a complete "network based" prepaid solution if there is a need. Using existing roaming agreements, Xium's vRoam service will monitor prepaid subscribers calls when they are outside the home market area. When a subscriber attempts to make a call outside their home area, Xium's vRoam service will intercept the call and send it back to the existing prepaid system in the home market using the cost efficient Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology. There are no changes required to the existing prepaid system other than rating the call in a different manner. Also, Xium's vRoam service requires no special software or changes in a carrier's switching center or in any of the roaming partner's switching centers. The vRoam service utilizes Xium's Service Control Point (SCP) that is connected to the worldwide SS7 signaling network. To implement the vRoam service, the carrier's SS7/ANSI-41 messages are "pointed" to the Xium SCP complex located in Tampa Florida. Once Xium receives the ANSI-41 messages from the roaming partner's switch, each call is routed using toll free or local numbers to the closest Xium Network Hub where the call is converted to VoIP and sent back to the prepaid platform. |
